The Municipality of South Huron is participating in Local Government Week from October 15 to 21, 2019. The objective of this campaign is to help youth and students gain an understanding of municipal government and its impact on everyday lives. It is also intended to engage youth in conversations about citizenship in our local community.

On July 16 th municipal employees Jim Nyssen, Jamie Reis and Erik Ramaker represented South Huron in the 2019 Huron County Safety Truck Roadeo. In its 26 th year, this event promotes safety, courtesy and professional driving skills in a challenging competition. This is the first time South Huron staff have competed in the event.

Until further notice, the Municipality of South Huron has closed the Centralia Community Hall. This decision was based on information received from the Fire Prevention Officer after a safety inspection identified several fire code violations. Due to the nature of the violations, Centralia Hall must be closed immediately to ensure public safety.
