Mayor Finch highlights community and business supports available during COVID

Posted on Thursday April 08, 2021

Following the province’s announcement yesterday of another Stay-at-Home Order I want to remind everyone in our community of the supports available to help you through it.

In addition to the information available at on our Business Recovery page, I encourage the business community to connect with the Exeter BIA or South Huron Chamber of Commerce for help navigating and accessing the assistance you need.

For our residents, if you are struggling to get through this please know that you are not alone. Reach out to your friends and family or call 211 to access the support that meets your needs. Feel free to contact the Municipality of South Huron at 519-235-0310 extension 247 to enroll in the South Huron TeleCheck Program, which is a FREE service where individuals can sign up to receive a periodic phone call — daily or weekly — to make sure you have everything you need. We have volunteers standing by to connect you with community resources and to provide general assistance. Anyone can also search for local support resources on the Community Recovery page at

South Huron Council and staff place your safety and well-being as our top priority. With that, Council has reinstated the mandates of the Mayor’s task forces on Community and Economic Recovery. These task forces are dedicated to uncovering every opportunity to build up South Huron.

Please continue to support our local businesses – every purchase made is one more investment into our community. Be kind to each other and remember that we are all in this together.

- Mayor George Finch
