South Huron receives funding from Federation of Canadian Municipalities to address local climate change adaptation

Posted on Thursday February 28, 2019

The Municipality of South Huron has been granted $114,567 in funding from the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) to help increase our capacity to adapt to the effects of climate change or reduce greenhouse (GHG) emissions.

The Municipality of South Huron will use the funding to dedicate staff to activities such as developing a climate change adaptation plan and adding related best practices into daily municipal processes.

South Huron is among 59 communities across Canada benefitting from these climate change staff grants. The climate change staff grants are offered through the Municipalities for Climate Innovation Program (MCIP) delivered by FCM and are funded by the Government of Canada.
