South Huron announces new measures to prevent COVID-19 spread

The Municipality of South Huron has put in place new measures to prevent the potential spread of COVID-19 and keep our communities safe. The COVID-19 situation continues to evolve rapidly. Please be advised that we have updated our website with municipal service information on the COVID-19 page.

New changes in effect as of March 27th:

The municipality’s period of essential service has been extended to April 30th – see our COVID-19 webpage for details.

All municipal active/sports parks are now closed to the public. This includes:

Baseball Diamonds

  • Dashwood Ball Diamond
  • South Huron Recreation Centre Ball Diamonds (Diamond 1, Diamond 2, Alvin Willert Field, Mini Ball Diamond)
  • Timbit Ball Park- McConnell Street
  • Wagner Field- 1 hardball diamond
  • Crediton Diamond
  • Centralia Diamond
  • Kirkton Diamonds

Soccer Fields

  • Kirkton Soccer Filed
  • Wagner Soccer Field
  • South Huron Recreation Center- soccer field

As a reminder, Port Blake Day Park and Elliot Park Campground remain closed to the public. The season of operation for these parks begins the Friday of Victoria Day weekend.

The Municipality urges residents to follow the guidance of Huron Perth Public Health available online or by calling 1-888-221-2133. By self-isolating when you are unwell or returning from travels, by maintaining a distancing of 2m between others when you go out for essentials, by washing hands thoroughly and frequently, we can all make a difference in keeping our communities safe.
