Exeter & District Pool Grand Opening

On Monday, July 1st at 1:00 PM Mayor George Finch officially opened the Exeter & District Pool as part of Canada Day in South Huron celebrations. A brief ribbon cutting event was held to acknowledge the supporters of the pool renovation project.

“It takes a community working together to deliver a project like this,” said Mayor Finch. “With the expertise and support of our many local contractors, South Huron has built an outstanding new pool facility that will benefit our communities for generations to come.”

Mayor Finch went on to recognize and thank the major contributors to the new pool:

  • 2014-2018 South Huron Council,
  • Doug Geoffrey Construction,
  • MR Engineering,
  • Theo Electric,
  • Austin Carrol Pools and their respective teams,
  • South Huron Optimists,
  • Exeter Rodeo Committee,
  • Tom Passmore Plumbing,
  • Albeck Construction,
  • NC Jones & Sons (Excavating),
  • Matt Dejong Heating & Cooling,
  • Greencare Landscaping,
  • Consolidated Sign & Lighting, and
  • Glavin Eavestroughing Ltd.

Mr. Brent Butson did the honour of cutting the ribbon on the new facility. As the pool was being finalized Butson approached Council about making sure the pool was equipped with a special wheel chair for accessing the pool, and he was the first to try it out on Canada Day.
