Following the guidance of Huron Perth Medical Officer of Health Dr. Miriam Klassen, the Municipality of South Huron has closed all municipal playgrounds as well as the Exeter skatepark effective March 21. This is a precaution against the spread of COVID-19.

“It is reasonable at this time, with evidence of local transmission of COVID-19 in surrounding communities, to close playgrounds and other such structures (i.e. skateparks) that encourage interaction.” - Dr. Miriam Klassen

Playground structures include those at Victoria Park, McNaughton Park, South Huron Recreation Centre, Kirkton-Woodham Community Centre, Centralia Community Centre, Crediton Community Centre and Dashwood Community Centre.”

The municipality urges all residents to continue to stay up to date and follow the guidance of Huron Perth Public Health at

The HPPH Health Line intake phone line (1-888-221-2133) is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 8pm and Saturday and Sunday, 9am to 4pm. Please note that they have been experiencing high call volumes.
