Mayor Finch thanks front line workers

Feedback

"Hello Everyone,

As we head into the Easter weekend I wanted to say thank you for doing your part to help combat the spread of COVID-19.

It’s been a difficult few weeks of physical isolation and we should all expect this to continue in the coming weeks.

Everyone is making sacrifices, but we are making a difference. I have seen incredible acts of compassion in our communities I am so proud. And you should be proud, too. Together, we are flattening the curve in our community, in Ontario and across Canada.

Know that the municipality of South Huron will continue to provide you with the essential services that you rely on. This means that don’t have to worry about things like water or waste water services, garbage disposal, or roads services as these, and more, are all being looked after. Visit SouthHuron.ca for all the current information on municipal services and don’t hesitate to contact staff if you have any questions – they are here for you.

The municipality has launched the South Huron Telecheck program to anyone who would like to receive a daily reassurance phone call to make sure you have everything you need. You can sign up by phoning 519.235.0310 x 231. Please leave your name, phone number and address.

Finally, a special thank you to our front line workers: our health care professionals, emergency service providers, our grocery store employees and our manufacturers and transportation teams. You are doing a great job looking after us and so we will continue to look after you:

  • We will stay home
  • We will only out for essentials, and when we do we will keep at least 2m away from others; and,
  • We will continue to wash our hands thoroughly and frequently.

Continue to look after each other, check on your neighbours, follow the guidance of the Huron Perth Public Health and have a safe and enjoyable long weekend.

Thank you for all that you are doing."

George Finch, Mayor
