National Public Works Week 2022

Feedback

South Huron is marking National Public Works Week by saying THANK YOU to our team of dedicated professionals who provide the municipal services we all rely on every day. All year round the efforts of public works staff go largely unnoticed in maintaining our water and wastewater systems, roads and bridges, trails and parks, and landfill – the infrastructure that allows our communities to thrive. These municipal staff members can be called to duty in the middle of the night during the worst possible weather to fix a water main or plow a road and are integral to our quality of life.crews in a hole repairing a broken water main

“We all sometimes take for granted the basic public services that power our everyday lives,” said Mayor George Finch. “It’s important that we occasionally pause and recognize the hard work of municipal staff everywhere and thank them for their efforts to keep our communities going.”

National Public Works Week runs from May 15 – 21 and is a chance to profile the work of teams dedicated to providing safe and reliable municipal services. This year’s Public Works Week theme is “Ready and Resilient.”
