of an Official Plan Amendment

Location: East Part of Lot 25, Concession 7, Usborne Ward, Municipality of South Huron (41351 MacDonald Road.)

 Take Notice that Council of the Municipality of South Huron adopted Official Plan Amendment 21(By-law #36-2021) on the 17th day of May, 2021 under Section 17 of the Planning Act.  This amendment now requires the approval of the County of Huron

Purpose & Effect:

Now that the sand resource has been depleted on this property, the property owner rehabilitated the pit to an agricultural use as required by the aggregate license and has subsequently surrendered the license. The application proposes to update the designation of the property to reflect its current status and plans for use agriculturally and as a woodlot going forward.

The subject lands are currently designated Mineral Aggregate in the South Huron Official Plan. The approximately 3 hectare woodlot in the southeast corner of the property is proposed to be designated “Natural Environment” to match its existing use while the balance of the lands which have been rehabilitated to agriculture would have an Agriculture designation.

And take notice that any person or public body is entitled to receive notice of the proposed decision of the County of Huron, if they submit a written request for notification to the County of Huron Planning Department.  The adopted Official Plan Amendment will now be submitted for approval to the County of Huron Planning and Development Department, Court House Square, Goderich, Ontario, N7A 1M2.

The complete by-law is available for inspection at the municipal office between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. (Monday to Friday).
