Notice of Intent to Adopt Amendments to Procedural By-Law 79-2015

TAKE NOTICE that at the regular meeting of Council, scheduled for October 3, 2022 at 6:00 p.m, the Council of South Huron will consider adopting amendments to the Procedural By-law 79-2015 to provide rules governing the order and proceedings of Council and the Committees of Council of the Municipality.

Members of the public are welcome to attend the meeting at Town Hall, or watch the livestream of the meeting on the Minutes and Agendas page of the Municipal website  

THE CONTENT of this by-law applies to staff, Council, and Committees of Council of the Municipality of South Huron, as well as any participating members of the public.

THE PURPOSE OF THE ADOPTION is to implement key changes to the rules and proceedings of Council and the Committees of Council.

KEY CHANGES to the rules and procedures outlined in this by-law include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Administrative/housekeeping changes to assist with clarity and context
  • Changes to formalize current practice and in response to Council input
  • Changes to meet best practices, modernize and promote transparency
