Potential Water Filter Scam

This is to advise our water customers of a potential water filter scam. Some customers have been approached by an individual going door-to-door requesting a sample of their tap water, and to gain access to the water meter to test for chlorine levels. This individual would return later with the results of water sampling; and try to convince the homeowner to purchase a very expensive home water filter system.

The Municipality is not taking these samples and is not affiliated with any company selling home water filter systems. South Huron drinking water is rigorously tested by Municipal Staff and is in full compliance with all Regulations. Our drinking water is completely safe and requires no further treatment.

We strongly advise all our customers to be wary of any door-to-door sales.
