Public Notice: Construction has begun at the South Huron Recreation Centre (SHRC)

Please be advised that the contractor, Elgin Contracting and Restoration Limited, has begun construction activities at the South Huron Recreation Centre (SHRC).

The contractor has established a temporary construction staging area that will be in place for the duration of the project (July to October 2022). Although the construction may spur some excitement, members of the public are encouraged to avoid the construction staging area and related activities on the property for the duration of the project.

There will be no parking on the west side of the temporary staging area. Parking is limited to the public on the southwest side during the duration of the project to allow for a safe distance between members of the public, the construction staging area and deliveries to the facility (occurring from the Wellington Street East entrance).  

Pedestrian and vehicular traffic is encouraged to use the Victoria Street East entrance when accessing the remainder of the SHRC property (ball diamonds, rodeo ring) to avoid delays, particularly Monday through Friday.
