On December 17th South Huron Council passed a resolution appointing the new Fire Chief for our community. Following a competitive staffing process, the Municipality of South Huron is pleased to announce that District Chief Jeremy Becker will assume the role of Fire Chief, effective January 7th, 2019.
Becker has more than 24 years of service with the Dashwood / South Huron Fire Department. During his career he has held the positions of Firefighter, Captain, Deputy Chief and District Chief.
“I’m pleased to welcome Chief Becker to lead our South Huron fire service,” said Mayor George Finch. “This internal hire speaks to the strength and talent of the entire South Huron Fire Department.”
The Municipality would like to thank Acting Fire Chief Jeff Musser who has been performing the duties of the position during the past several months. Musser will return to the role of District Chief when Chief Becker assumes his duties in January.
“District Chief Musser’s professionalism and commitment to public safety continues to be exemplary, and I’d like to thank him for voluntarily stepping up over the last few months,” added Mayor Finch.
