Following direction by the Province of Ontario mandating the closure of non-essential services, the Municipality of South Huron is putting in place additional measures to prevent the potential spread of COVID-19 in our communities.
Please note that effective March 25th the South Huron Landfill will be closed to the public. The landfill will continue to operate for the BRA on curbside collection days (Tuesdays and Fridays), as well as contractors and commercial customers on Mondays and Thursdays.
The Municipality’s spring yard waste/brush curbside pickup program has been postponed until a later date and no public access will be permitted to the landfill site for yard waste, leaves or brush at this time.
Municipal staff have been re-deployed to support the provision of essential services throughout South Huron. The full list of affected municipal services is available at SouthHuron.ca
As a reminder, Port Blake Day Park and Elliot Park Campground are closed to the public. The season of operation for these parks begins the Friday of Victoria Day weekend.
People are urged to stay home to limit the potential spread of the coronavirus in our communities. Follow the guidance of Huron Perth Public Health at hpph.ca or call their Health Line intake phone line (1-888-221-2133), which is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 8pm and Saturday and Sunday, 9am to 4pm. Please note that they have been experiencing high call volumes.
If you require assistance regarding a municipal service, all South Huron departments continue to be available by phone and email.
