South Huron staff compete in 2019 Huron County Safety Truck Roadeo

On July 16th municipal employees Jim Nyssen, Jamie Reis and Erik Ramaker represented South Huron in the 2019 Huron County Safety Truck Roadeo. In its 26th year, this event promotes safety, courtesy and professional driving skills in a challenging competition. This is the first time South Huron staff have competed in the event.

This year there were 39 competitors running through 6 different circuits requiring advanced skills in heavy equipment operation. Erik received second place with only one point separating him from the leader, which qualifies him to advance to the Provincial Safety Truck Roadeo organized by the Association of Ontario Road Supervisors (AORS). The provincial competition will take place in Renfrew County this September.
