South Huron temporarily moving to modified Step Two of Roadmap to Reopen

Following the Province of Ontario announcement on January 3, 2022, South Huron is implementing the following temporary service level changes effective 12:01AM, Jan 5th to help limit the spread of the COVID-19 Omicron variant.

These temporary changes will remain in effect for at least 21 days (January 26th, inclusive) unless otherwise directed by the Province.

Town Hall

  • All South Huron departments continue to be available by phone and email. However, in-person service at Town Hall will be suspended. The public is encouraged to use the information and online payment system available on the SouthHuron.ca website.
  • In-person cheques may be deposited using the secure drop box outside the Main Street entrance to Town Hall. However, please be aware that processing times for mail will be longer than normal.

Inspections

  • Building services will continue to be provided online; In-person building inspections will continue as necessary for new builds, only.
  • Water inspections will continue as necessary for new builds, only.
  • Non-essential fire safety inspections will be suspended.

Waste Collection

  • Public service at the South Huron Landfill will continue with COVID restrictions in place.
  • Curbside waste collection will continue as normal.

Arena / Facility Rentals / Recreation Programs

  • All services at the South Huron Rec Centre and Stephen Township Arena will be suspended.
  • Facility rental services at all community halls will be suspended.

Individuals who are ill are urged to stay home to limit the spread of the coronavirus in our communities. Follow the guidance of Huron Perth Public Health available at hpph.ca or call their Health Line intake phone line (1-888-221-2133).
