What is Third Party Advertising? 

If a person, corporation or trade union intends to spend money between May 2, 2022 and October 24, 2022 on advertisements or other materials that support, promote or oppose a candidate in the municipal and school board election, they are conducting third party advertising.  Third party advertisers must be registered with the municipal Clerk before they can accept any contributions or spend any money.  Third-party advertising is separate from a candidate’s campaign.

Activities that do not involve spending money, such as discussions or expressing an opinion about a candidate are not considered to be third party advertising.
