August 10 Council Meeting Highlights

At its Regular Meeting on August 10, 2026, South Huron Council:

·         Received staff reports on topics including:

o   Snow Removal, Grass Cutting and Trimming Services; and awarded contracts to the lowest bidders as follows:

§  Snow services to McLellan Group Rentals and Services for Zone 1, Casey’s Landscaping Management Inc for Zones 2,3,5, and 6

§  Grass cutting and trimming services to 4C for Zones 1 and 6, HoneyDo Landscaping for Zones 2,3,and 4, and Casey’s Landscaping Management Inc for Zone 5.

o   Q2 2026 Fire Department Activity

o   Fire Protection Grant 2026-2027

§  authorized the submission of a funding application to the Fire Protection Grant 2026-2027 for supporting cancer prevention efforts & to assist with responses to lithium-ion battery fires

o   2026 Second Quarter Operating Budget Variance

o   2nd Quarter Summary of By-Law Infractions and Requests for Service

o   Q2 2026 Strategic Priorities Progress Tracker

o   Memorandum of Understanding between the Municipality of South Huron and Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority (ABCA) – South Huron Trails

§  approved the Memorandum of Understanding between the Municipality of South Huron and the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority for the South Huron Trail and related municipal lands as presented, with the necessary By-Law being brought back for the required readings.
