August 11, 2025 Council Meeting Highlights

At its Regular Meeting on August 11, 2025, South Huron Council:

·         Received a presentation of the review of the 2024 Audited Financial Statements by Paul Seebach of Seebach & Company LLP

·         Received a Delegation from Ryan Erb of the United Way of Perth-Huron providing an update on the Memorandum of Understanding

·         Received staff reports/memos on topics including:

o   Results of Annual DWQMS Management review

o   Proposed Speed Change in Urban Areas

§  Council approved the proposed speed reductions as presented; and the by-law will be brought back to Sept 2 for Council consideration.

o   Reduced Load Limit By-Law update:

§  The by-law will be brought back to Sept 2 for Council consideration.

o   Annual Policy Review - Corporate Health and Safety Policy

§  Council approved the policy as presented.

o   Annual Policy Review – Violence and Harassment in the Workplace

§  Council approved policy as presented.

o   2025 Second Quarter Operating Budget Variance Report for information.

o   2025 Increase to grant for Kirkton-Woodham Community Complex – Budget Amendment**

§  Council approved an increase to the Operating grant for Kirkton-Woodham Community Centre to $20,000 annually with the additional $5,000 for 2025 to be funded from the Working fund reserve.

o   2024 Audited Financial Statements

§  2024 Statements were received and adopted

o   Committee Appointments

§  The by-law will be brought back to Sept 2 for Council consideration.

o   2026 proposed budget meeting schedule
