June 15 Council Meeting Highlights
At its Regular Meeting on June 15, 2026, South Huron Council:
Received delegations/presentations:
o Watson & Associates – 2026 Development Charges Background Study update
Received staff reports on topics including:
o Development Charges Background Study Update
- Council approved proceeding with the full implementation rate approach for Development Charges (100% of the calculated D.C. rates (plus indexing)) effective January 1, 2027. The authorizing by-law regarding same will be brought back to the July 13th Council Meeting for Council consideration.
o Community Services Sponsorship and Advertising Program
- Council approved the Sponsorship and Advertisement Program, and proposed fees, in principle; and the necessary by-law will be brought back to Council for the required three readings
o Request for major drain repair and improvements – Faulder, Muller and Nagel Municipal Drains 2026
- Council appointed William J. Dietrich, P. Eng., from Dietrich Engineering Ltd. as the Municipal Drainage Engineer to prepare a report for the repair and improvement of the Faulder, Muller and Nagel Municipal Drains under Section 78 of the Drainage Act.
o Development Charge Reduction Program - Lambton Shores Request for Letter of Support
- Approved providing the Municipality of Lambton Shores a letter of support for their application to the Development Charges Reduction Program (DCRP) for the Grand Bend Forcemain Twinning Project.
