June 16, 2025 Council Meeting Highlights

At its Regular Meeting on June 16, 2025, South Huron Council:

·         Council recognized the years of service, courage, and commitment of several members of our South Huron Firefighting team. Join us in celebrating our dedicated firefighters.

o   5 Years of Service - Jeff Van Niekerk

o   10 Years of Service - Ben Case, Jason Masse, Braden Talbot

o   15 Years of Service - Sam Datars, Tom Griffith, James Yates

o   20 Years of Service - Brad Ankers

o   30 Years of Service - Jeremy Becker, Tim Moore

·         Received staff reports on topics including:

o   Pre-Servicing Agreement for Phase 1 of the Windermere Communities Ltd. Development

o   Annual Broader Public Sector (BPS) Energy Reporting for 2024

o   Awarded the tender for South Huron Recreation Centre baseball diamond light replacement

o   2024 annual South Huron landfill status report

o   Results of 2025 drinking water quality management system (DWQMS) internal audit

o   Awarded contracts for engineering services for various capital projects

o   Community Safety and Well-Being (CSWB) for Huron plan review report (June 2025)

o   Adopted the Asset Management Plan 2025 with the financial strategy recommended in same to be discussed during 2026 budget deliberations

o   Approve a policy change, effective January 1, 2026, regarding the tax arrears registration process

o   Council Strategic Priority Session Workshop
