May 5, 2025 Council Meeting Highlights
At its Regular Meeting on May 5, 2025, South Huron Council:
· Received a delegation from the Phil McNamee Charitable Foundation regarding Serenity Nature Reserve and Solitude Nature Reserve presented by Mary Hanley and Phil McNamee
· Received staff reports on topics including:
o Planner Report – Official Plan modification
§ Council requested that the County of Huron Council modify the designation change affecting Concession 6, Part Lot 12, Stephen Ward and replace with a Special Policy Area
o Pool Programming updates
§ New programs available this season will include Introduction to Water, Swim to Survive, Try a Tri, a Triathlon Race Day and opportunity to rent the Wading Pool
o Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks, 2024 Inspection Report for the South Huron Water Distribution System
o Drinking Water Quality Management System 2025 Annual Management Review
o Remembering the Huron County Hockey School
§ Memorabilia from the Huron Hockey School, held at Stephen Arena, was presented
o Remuneration By-Law Review
§ Direction provided to the Clerk to proceed with a Council Remuneration Review in 2025 and bring a report back with information.
