Main Street South Reconstruction Project-Weekly Update April 17, 2026

Work continued this week with the installation of the temporary watermain; removal of sidewalks and curbs along the west side of Main Street; and topsoil stripping in Elliot Park in preparation for storm sewer work at the Ausable River.

Next week the contractor will complete the installation of the temporary watermain, including all necessary testing and commissioning. Storm sewer installation is scheduled to commence; and the contractor will continue preparation work for a sanitary sewage bypass to facilitate installation of a manhole on the trunk sewer in the intersection of Main Street and Church Street. Elliott Park will remain closed for the duration of the project.

          Please note that a full road closure of Main Street at Church Street is planned for the week of Monday, April                     27^th to Friday, May 1^st to complete sewer and watermain work in the intersection.

           With traffic disrupted and detours in place, please expect delays and plan accordingly. Your patience and                         understanding is greatly appreciated.
