Main Street South Reconstruction Project-Weekly Update May 15, 2026

This week the contractor completed sanitary sewer installation on Main Street from Hill Street to Wellington Street and completed a watermain cut & cap at Victoria Street. Next week the contractor will continue sanitary sewer installation on Main Street heading south towards Victoria. Storm sewer work will resume north of the Church Street intersection heading towards Hill Street. Detour for southbound traffic will remain on Church and William Street until construction is complete on the west side of Main Street. Over the long weekend, one lane of northbound traffic will remain open on Main Street.

Next week, northbound traffic will be detoured onto Victoria Street to Andrew Street to Wellington Street Hill, then back onto Main Street. Sidewalk on east side of Main Street and east side of the bridge, remains open during this phase of construction.

 Businesses remain open during construction; access to homes and businesses will be reasonably maintained throughout construction. With traffic disrupted and detours in place, please expect delays and plan accordingly.
