Main Street South Reconstruction Project-Weekly Update May 22, 2026

This week the contractor continued sanitary sewer installation on Main Street from Wellington to Victoria Street; and continued storm sewer installation from Church to Hill Street. Next week the contractor will complete the sanitary sewer installation on Main Street and will continue the storm sewer installation heading towards Wellington Street. Detour for southbound traffic will remain on Church and William Street until construction is complete on the west side of Main Street.

 Next week, the intersection of Main Street and Victoria Street will be closed for two days starting Monday for sanitary sewer work. Northbound traffic will be detoured onto Gidley Street to Andrew Street to Wellington Street, then back onto Main Street. The crosswalk at Victoria Street will be available for pedestrian use while the intersection is closed to vehicle traffic. The sidewalk on east side of Main Street and east side of the bridge, remains open during this phase of construction.

 Businesses remain open during construction; access to homes and businesses will be reasonably maintained throughout construction. With traffic disrupted and detours in place, please expect delays and plan accordingly. Your patience and understanding is greatly appreciated.
