Main Street South Reconstruction Project-Weekly Update July 17, 2026

This week the contractor installed the new concrete curb on the west side of Main Street and continued to place the granular “A” road base. Next week the contractor will complete the granular “A” road base, fine grade the granular “A”, and place the base asphalt on the west side of Main Street. Upon completion of the base asphalt, traffic in both directions will be switched onto the new asphalt on the west side of Main Street. In the meantime, northbound traffic (one lane) will remain on the east side of Main Street; and southbound traffic will continue to be detoured onto Church and William Street.

 Businesses remain open during construction; access to homes and businesses will be reasonably maintained throughout construction. With traffic disrupted and detours in place, please expect delays and plan accordingly. Your patience and understanding is greatly appreciated.
