Main Street South Reconstruction Project-Weekly Update October 23, 2026

This week the contractor successfully completed the watermain commissioning and placed the new watermain in service. The base asphalt was placed on the east side of Main Street and work commenced on the new sidewalks. Waterservice transfers and watermain tie-ins at side streets also commenced this week. Next week, work will continue on the waterservice transfers; removal of the temporary watermain; and new sidewalk installations. One lane of traffic in both directions will remain on Main Street until completion of the project; with the potential for a single-day detour onto William Street (if required).

Businesses remain open during construction; access to homes and businesses will be reasonably maintained throughout construction. With traffic disrupted and lanes reduced, please expect delays and plan accordingly. Your patience and understanding is greatly appreciated
