NOTICE OF PUBLIC OPEN HOUSES

Proposed Zoning By-law Amendment Implementing the Five-Year Review of the South Huron Official Plan

A draft update has been prepared to the Municipality of South Huron’s Zoning By-law to implement changes made during the recently completed Official Plan review.

The South Huron Community is invited to attend drop-in Open Houses on:

-       Thursday January 29th, from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm; and

-       Friday January 30th, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

at the Exeter Branch Public Library, 330 Main Street South, Exeter, Municipality of South Huron.

The Proposed Changes:

A number of text and mapping changes are proposed in the Zoning By-law amendment as a result of the Official Plan update and a general review. At a high level, changes include but aren’t limited to:

·         Preparing the future development lands on the south side of Exeter for development;

·         Reviewing the By-law, especially the general provisions and housing friendly update provisions, for improvements and clarifications;

·         Revising or removing provisions which cause frequent planning applications;

·         Updates to implement changes in Official Plan policies;

·         Modifying settlement area boundaries across the municipality to match the updated Official Plan mapping;

·         Updating mapping within urban, agricultural, and natural environment areas.

If approved, these changes would apply across the Municipality of South Huron. A draft of the document and mapping is available.

Any person may attend the open house and/or make written or verbal representation, either in support of or in opposition to the proposed Zoning By-law amendment.

1.    You may submit comments, objections, or concerns by email to Planning@southhuron.ca or by mail to the Municipal office.

2.    You may attend and speak during the public meeting, which will be held at a future date. Individuals are encouraged to submit their comments before the meeting for consideration. 

If you wish to be notified of the decision of the Municipality on the proposed Zoning Bylaw amendment, you must make a written request to the Municipality of South Huron.
