PROPOSED NEW MUNICIPAL ROAD Municipal Class Environmental Assessment NOTICE OF PROJECT COMMENCEMENT

The Municipality of South Huron is proposing a new municipal road in Ward 1 (Stephen) within an existing private right-of-way to service lands planned for development. The objective is to design and construct a new municipal road within a road allowance of approximately 20 metres, with water servicing, to support the planned development of lands municipally addressed as 70114B Grand Bend Line, establish lot frontage for this parcel, and generally improve access to lands associated with the Grand Bend Motorplex (municipally addressed as 70114A Grand Bend Line). The proposed road corridor would extend from Grand Bend Line approximately 240 metres through the Grand Bend Motorplex lands to provide access and approximately 20 metres of frontage to 70114B Grand Bend Line (refer to enclosed Project Location Map).

The planning for this project is following the environmental screening process set out for Schedule B activities under the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) document. The purpose of the screening process is to identify any potential environmental impacts associated with the project and to plan for appropriate mitigation of any impacts. The process includes consultation with the public, stakeholders and government review agencies. The proposed project is being planned under Schedule B of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA).

The consultation program for this MCEA includes opportunities for public involvement. For the initial phase of the program, public input will be received until December 31, 2025.
As the project proceeds, notices and information will be posted on the Municipality of South Huron web site. Refer to 'Municipal News' (https://www.southhuron.ca/news/).
