*Dog Licensing Update
The Municipality of South Huron has ended its dog licensing and registration program. Effective January 1, 2026, residents will no longer be required to purchase or renew dog tags for their four-legged family members.
Please note that the Animal Control By-Law remains in effect for all other aspects, including dog kennels, number of animals, cat control, feeding of wildlife, penalties, etc.
The decision to end the dog licensing program in South Huron was made by Council resolution (Motion # 366-2025) during the discussion of agenda item 6.3 at the September 29, 2025 Budget Meeting.
All meeting agendas and minutes are available on our website at the Agendas, Minutes and Meetings page.
