Notice of Passing of Municipal-Wide Development Charges By-Law
Take Notice that the Council of the Municipality of South Huron passed municipal-wide development charges By-Law No. 41-2026 on the 13th day of July, 2026 under section 2 (1) of the Development Charges Act, 1997, S.O., 1997 c.27, as amended; and
Take Notice that any person or organization may appeal to the Ontario Land Tribunal under section 14 of the Act, in respect of the development charges by-law, by filing with the Clerk of the Municipality of South Huron on or before August 24, 2026, a notice of appeal.
The Municipality of South Huron is ceasing all outdoor operations today due to an air quality warning issued by Environment Canada for Huron and Perth counties.
This week the contractor completed the road work on the west side of Main Street, including excavation to subgrade and placing granular road base. Next week the contractor will start the new concrete curb installation on the west side of Main Street. Northbound traffic (one lane) will remain open on Main Street; and southbound traffic will continue to be detoured onto Church and William Street until construction is complete on the west side of Main Street.
Businesses remain open during construction; access to homes and businesses will be reasonably maintained throughout construction. With traffic disrupted and detours in place, please expect delays and plan accordingly. Your patience and understanding is greatly appreciated
