Annual Energy and GHG Reporting

Ontario Regulation 507/18 (Broader Public Sector: Energy Reporting and Conservation and Demand Management Plans) requires public organizations including municipalities to submit a report on or before July 1st on their annual energy usage and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for their owned facilities that have conditioned spaces (i.e. from heating and cooling).

Conservation and Demand Management Plan

Ontario Regulation 25/23 (O. Reg. 25/23) (formerly Ontario Regulation 507/18), requires broader public sector (BPS) organizations to post their Conservation and Demand Management (CDM) plans on their website by July 1, 2024, and on or before July 1st in every fifth year thereafter.

Building on the previous five-year CDM plan (2019), the new five-year CDM plan (2024) is an update to the previous plan and was developed in accordance with the regulation. It provides a summary of the previous plan’s performance, sets the targets for the new period, and describes the planned initiatives and projects to achieve the targets.
