We are now hiring for aquatic positions for summer 2025!
Lifeguards / Swimming Instructors must provide pool and wading pool supervision to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment, and be capable of providing first aid treatment where necessary. The Lifeguards / Swimming Instructors will be responsible for the overall safety of a variety of swimmers utilizing the Exeter pool facilities, Exeter wading pool and must have the ability to effectively and efficiently protect the safety of swimmers. Other responsibilities include the maintenance of the pool areas to ensure safety and ease of use. Applicants must have all appropriate certifications.
Qualifications:
• Current Standard First Aid with CPR C
• Current National Lifeguard Certification
• Current Swim Instructor Certification is considered an asset
• Effective verbal, listening and communication skills
• Effective public relations skills
• Possesses cultural awareness and sensitivity
All qualifications need to be current as of June 2025. Please submit a copy of your qualifications with your application. If you have not yet taken the course but intend to prior to the deadline date, please include these details in your application.
Working conditions:
Work occurs in an outdoor environment with a high degree of public contact, as well as exposure to highly sensitive and confidential issues, which may be of a personal nature. Regular lifting, carrying and management of supplies for the practice of lifesaving techniques. Occasional lifting and carrying of persons in the pool during swim instruction and lifesaving techniques. Hours of work are scheduled within the core operating hours of the Exeter pool and wading pool facilities Monday through Sunday.
Hourly Range/Wage: $19.21 - $22.60.
