Am I registered to vote?

The Municipality of South Huron would like to thank all of those residents that attended the recent drop-in sessions where Municipal staff were on hand to check and update your status on the voters list.

Changes can still be made at the Municipal Office during normal business hours from the 1st day of September, 2018 to the 21st day of October, 2018 and on the 22nd of October, 2018 until 8:00 p.m. In order to be added to the voters list, complete an EL15 Form - Application to Amend Voters List and submit it at the Municipal Office. Please bring the appropriate identification (e.g., a valid Ontario Driver's License) as outlined in the Municipal Elections Act - O. Reg. 304/13.

How do I vote?

The South Huron 2018 Municipal Election will be conducted using Internet and telephone voting. Voters may choose to vote by phone or online - there is no paper ballot option. All eligible voters in South Huron were mailed a letter on September 18, 2018 that contained:

  • A Personal Identification Number (PIN) that will be used to cast your ballot (do not share your PIN with anyone!)
  • A telephone number and an Internet address for voting
  • A list of candidates running for office, and
  • A Revision Centre telephone number to call for assistance

If you did not receive your letter, please contact the Municipal Office. The Municipal Clerk is the Returning Officer and is able to answer any questions you may have about the election.
