I am saddened to hear of the passing of my colleague, Jim.
The Municipality of South Huron has initiated a review of its Official Plan. After ongoing community consultation and revisions to Official Plan policies and mapping, the Council of South Huron has scheduled a public meeting to gather public input before they may consider adopting the draft amendment.
This week the contractor completed the watermain tie-ins, fine graded the gravel road base, and placed base asphalt on the west side of Main Street from the bridge to just south of Thames Road.
At its Regular Meeting on November 18th, 2024, South Huron Council received staff reports on topics including:
Delivery of water sewer bills, taxes, and other invoices or payments mailed to us could be impacted by the postal strike. Please note that customers are still responsible for paying bills on time and that late charges will apply if payments are not received on time.
Attention: EXETER RESIDENTS & HURON PARK MONTHLY UTILITY CUSTOMERS
Due to the national strike of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW), municipal utility bills may not be delivered to our customers subscribed to received paper copies before the November 29 payment deadline.
This week the contractor continued installation of new sidewalks, concrete boulevards, and final preparation for base asphalt on the west side of Main Street from the bridge to Walper Street. Traffic continues to be shifted onto the new asphalt on the east side of Main Street from the bridge to Walper Street. Access to all businesses is being reasonably maintained during construction.
The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) has issued a 72-hour strike notice. This indicates a potential Canada Post mail service disruption could start as early as Friday, November 15, depending on the results of ongoing labour negotiations.
The contractor has completed the installation of the watermain, sanitary / storm service stubs, gravel road base and new curb on the west side of Main Street from the bridge to Walper Street.
The fall leaf bag pickup will be extended until Friday, November 15.
Once the collection period has ended, staff will no longer collect any items that are set curbside. You may take your leaves and debris to the South Huron Landfill free of charge at any time. Please refer to the South Huron website for Landfill operating hours.
