Construction Work in the area of Main Street North and Thames Rd E

Drifting snow and reduced visibility are severely hampering the ability of road crews to respond according to standard timelines for winter maintenance activities.

Staff and contractors continue to clear accumulated snow from municipal roads and sidewalks.

With improvements made and a break in the weather, the Municipality is now able to end the Significant Weather Event declaration as of 4:00pm, December 4, 2024

Winter maintenance will continue this evening with staff working to clear roads and sidewalks across the municipality ASAP.

The Municipality of South Huron has declared a Significant Weather Event for all municipal roads due to heavy snowfall and challenging conditions.

The Landfill Site will be closed today, Monday December 2, due to inclement weather.

This week the contractor completed the remaining gravel road base work, curb installation, base asphalt on Main Street and the final watermain tie-in north of Thames Road.

The Municipality of South Huron has initiated a review of its Official Plan. After ongoing community consultation and revisions to Official Plan policies and mapping, the Council of South Huron has scheduled a public meeting to gather public input before they may consider adopting the draft amendment.
